Positive Networking: Irons Supporting Foodbanks
Irons Supporting Foodbanks (ISF) were recently able to benefit from the regular networking events hosted by Newham Chamber of Commerce.
The ISF regularly deliver food to the Carpenters Estate foodbank, and have supplied new clothes for the homeless that they look after, as well as bedding donated by UAL over the last 2 summers. Being made aware of the refurbishment at the Holiday Inn Express, we asked if we could find a home for the furniture that was being replaced. Irma Debese, Sales Manager at the hotel was quick to respond and send across details of what they have. Within a couple of days, the items, including sofas, tables and chairs were delivered to the estate.
Samantha White, Manager of the Carpenters Estate Warm Haven added: ‘A huge thank you for the generous donation of furniture from Holiday Inn Express.
We managed to fill up four transit vans with sofas, tables, and chairs. These made a significant impact in providing essential furniture to families who had put their name down on our list. This act of kindness will surely make a significant difference in their lives and contribute to creating a more comfortable and functional living environment for them.
On behalf of the families who have received the furniture, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Holiday Inn Express for their generous donation. Their support and contribution have made a positive impact on the lives of those in need.’
John Ratomski, founder of ISF added: ‘As well as delivering food to local foodbanks with donations received from West Ham United fans and local businesses, ISF are always looking to help those locally who are struggling in one way or another. If any Chamber members feel they could work with us to achieve this, we can be contacted on ironsfoodbank@gmail.com’
